Layne Norton

Layne Norton is the founder of BioLayne. He created the company to provide ethical, science-based coaching that synthesized real world experience with evidence based protocols. In his coaching career he has turned over 70 people pro and reshaped the way that countless people think about nutrition. To that end, Layne completed a BS in Biochemistry and a PhD in Nutritional Sciences, honing his intellectual skills under Dr. Donald Layman, one of the foremost researchers on protein metabolism and fat loss in the world. He has also enjoyed success in bodybuilding, winning a natural pro card in 2006 and competing as a pro in 2010 with his career highlight being a heavyweight class win at the 2010 IFPA International. He has also done extremely well in powerlifting, winning USAPL Nationals in 2014 and 2015 in the 93kg class and finishing with an overall silver medal at the 2015 IPF worlds, including a then world record squat of 303kg (668 lbs). He has also written two best-selling books, The Complete Contest Prep Guide and Fat Loss Forever while continuing to provide enormous amounts of free content via social media, podcasts, articles, and various other outlets. He has spoken all over the world including seminars in Australia, UK, Ireland, Denmark, Scotland, Canada, Thailand, with plans for more in the future. More recently, he has focused on providing ongoing support to help more people via biolayne.com and it's subscription membership as well as training other coaches to use his methods to help their clients succeed. 

Holly Baxter

Holly Baxter has a strong background in athletics as a successful sprinter in high school and carried this success over into her competitive physique career. She is a two time world level champion fitness model in the Natural Universe and Natural Olympia competitions (2015) and recently achieved pro status with the WBFF. Despite her strong athletic background, Holly has always placed a heavy emphasis on academia and lifelong learning having earned a bachelors in Food Science and a Masters in Dietetics. The combination of knowledge with her real world results and 5 years of coaching experience made her a great choice for the Director of Nutrition for BioLayne. She loves working with clients, producing informative content, and training other coaches to help make a positive difference in people's health. 

Samantha Katz

Samantha earned her Bachelor's in Psychology from Florida State University in 2010. She went on to study the inner workings of Fitness and Nutrition and earned her Personal Training, Corrective Exercise and Fitness Nutrition Specialist certifications from the National Academy of Sports Nutrition in 2014. Sam is also a life-long athlete and physique competitor. Her combined passion for business leadership, fitness and nutrition, and the development of people makes her the perfect fit for our Director of Operations and Team Biolayne Manager. 

Jaymes Longstrom

Jaymes Longstrom earned his Bachelor's in Exercise Science from Concordia University, St. Paul. In 2019, he graduated with his Master’s of Science in Exercise Science from the University of South Florida. Jaymes has coordinated a number of research studies and presented original data at national conferences under the supervision of Dr. Bill Campbell in the Performance and Physique Enhancement Laboratory. Jaymes is a competitive physique athlete who has also competed in powerlifting. Jaymes believes the value of research is in its practical application; each client will benefit from a scientific and uniquely individualized approach.

Joseph Muñoz

Joseph Muñoz is a Nutritional Sciences Ph.D. who graduated from the Florida State University in 2020. His goal is to help individuals achieve their physique goals using scientifically based approaches. His academic research as a graduate student focused on investigating the role of different foods in the prevention and improvement of certain diseases, mainly osteoporosis and diabetes. Additionally, he has been involved in conducting several clinical trials, has published scientific articles, taught undergraduate nutrition and anatomy courses, and presented his research findings in academic conferences including the American Society for Nutrition.


Joseph is someone who avidly keeps up with the current scientific literature in the fields of nutrition and exercise science. His unique combination of research, teaching, and professional experience makes him an excellent coach who is well adept to help you achieve your physique goals

Astrid Naranjo

Astrid Naranjo is a Clinician Dietitian & Nutritionist and has a Master's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics Practice from Bond University (Australia), along with a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Central University of Venezuela.


Astrid joins us from Clean Health Fitness Institute where she was the creator and editor of nutrition course work and curriculum. She also has some 9 years experience as a clinical dietitian and nutrition consultant in Goldcoast, Australia.


Astrid has a strong social media following and is an avid creator of social media content. Atrid posts informative and engaging content daily, along with weekly interviews with many high-profile nutrition experts such as Alan Aragon, Eric Helms PhD, Bill Campbell PhD, Mike Israetel, Layne Norton PhD, and many more.


Her nutrition specialties include diet design for metabolic syndrome, women's health and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), fat loss, binge eating, and creating healthier relationships with food and overall wellbeing.

Gerald Ernat

Gerald Ernat received his Bachelor's in Food, Nutrition, & Dietetics from Illinois State University. In 2017, he completed his Dietetic Internship from Bradley University in Peoria, IL and passed his exam to become a Registered Dietitian. Gerald then worked as an RD and Graduate Assistant at Saint Louis University, where he also received his Master’s in Nutrition & Physical Performance. During graduate school, he was responsible for educating and helping Dietetic interns and students prepare to become future healthcare professionals. Gerald also was heavily involved in research studies and conducted data collection of his own. After graduate school, he gained experience working as a Sports Dietitian with the military, at a bariatric surgery/medical weight loss center, and also at a mental health facility.


Gerald loves competing in multiple strength sports including powerlifting, strongman, and Scottish Highland Games. This has given him the opportunity of working with some of the strongest strength athletes out there. Gerald believes that combining science and practical recommendations allows for his client’s best success to reach their health, physique, and performance goals.

Paul Campbell

Paul Campbell graduated with his Master's Degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point in 2012. Paul has co-authored studies outlining the effectiveness of chronic disease prevention through lifestyle modification and believes that evidence-based interventions are the key to sustainable behavior change. Paul has been a competitive, drug free bodybuilder for the past 15 years, earning his professional status in 2018. Paul is also an avid hunter, mountain biker, alpine skier and backpacker who understands the importance of resistance training and proper nutrition. Using evidence-based methods, he has worked with competitive bodybuilders, a wide range of strength and endurance athletes, as well as people looking to maintain fat loss and improve their quality of life. Whether your goal is to lose weight and keep it off, build muscle, or to compete, Paul encompasses extensive experience, drive, and dedication to help his clients achieve their goals.

Jacqueline Llovet

Jacqueline Llovet is a Registered Nurse who obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1997 from Barry University, located in Miami, Florida. She is a first-generation college student and loves to learn, she graduated college with Honors, Sigma Cum Laude. She has 24 years of experience in the clinical setting. She also holds two nutrition certifications. She is a Certified Nutrition Coach with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well as a certificate in Dr. Layne Norton’s course, “The Science of Nutrition”. As a health care professional, Jackie is passionate about helping others live a healthy and fit lifestyle. She has witnessed firsthand in the hospital setting, the plethora of health problems that may occur when people do not prioritize their health and fitness.


As a mother of three and a professional, Jackie enjoys helping other parents and professionals learn how to make self-care a priority and teaches them strategies on how they truly can do it all with some planning, to reach their physique and wellness goals. Her mix of knowledge, experience, and her caring and compassionate demeanor, make her an excellent coach to help her clients reach their goals.


Jackie's future goals include obtaining a master's degree in Nutrition, as well as compete in an amateur master's level bikini competition. She enjoys being a role model to others and empowering them to realize that you can be in the best shape of your life, regardless of age!

Tania Monk

Tania found her true calling as a fitness & nutrition coach by transforming her frustration with conflicting messages in the industry into a passion for educating others!


In her quest to find answers she chose to focus on evidence- based practices and studied with Mac-Nutrition Uni to become a MNU certified nutritionist.


Qualifications include certification as a performance nutrition coach through Clean Health Institute and certification in Dr. Layne Norton's "The Science of Nutrition". Tania also holds certificates in Sebastian Oreb's Strength Systems International Certifications, L1 & L2.


The onset of the pandemic provided an opportunity to put her newfound knowledge to the test and her business “Fit After 40” was born. Based along the Great Ocean Road, Australia, FAF takes clients on a journey of self-discovery and reconnection, unleashing the courage to regain their health & fitness.


As a woman in her 40's, a mother of 4 and a business owner, Tania understands the challenges that others in her age group face when it comes to taking care of themselves!


Tania's evidence-based approach has led to many of her clients achieving incredible results. She is passionate in supporting them to achieve their fitness goals beyond the gym to help them live a healthier life and promote a balance of mind, body and soul.

Patrick McCarthy

Patrick is a qualified sport and performance nutritionist. He received his BS in Sport & Exercise Science in 2017. During and after this time, he played both semi-professional and college basketball in the top league in Ireland. Patrick then received his MS degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Copenhagen, whilst leading a research project in Ireland investigating health and behavior changes of first year university students upon their admission to college.


Since then, Patrick has received a postgraduate diploma from the Institute of Performance Nutrition (IOPN), worked as a senior performance nutritionist for a professional football club in Ireland and as a private coach for individuals (both everyday and active).


Since his relocation to the US, Patrick has spoken at over 40+ workshops with military, firefighters, Navy, FBI and more. He is passionate about helping individuals optimize their nutrition and improve performance in:


- Their job and career
- Lifestyle goals (fat loss, health improvement)
- Training goals
- Sport and athletics


He is passionate about helping people improve their attitudes and behaviors around food, and finding practical ways to make meaningful and lasting changes. He specializes in body recomposition, muscle gain, fat loss in active individuals, improved performance and team sport athletes.


Patrick loves traveling, skiing, surfing, learning, public speaking, hiking and of course, playing basketball. His future goals include completing a PhD in performance nutrition, working with an NBA franchise and a future of helping people achieve what they never thought was possible with this amazing company Biolayne.

Bernardo López

Bernardo López is from Ecuador and graduated with a Business Administration degree from Universidad San Francisco de Quito in 2018. Since he was nine years old, he practiced capoeira, a Brazilian sport/martial art. Falling in love with this sport, Bernardo decided to enter the gym to gain muscle to excel at capoeira. When he began in this world, he noticed that there is a severe lack of information and misconceptions regarding nutrition and training. Having this in mind, he decided to certify himself, completing the FOCA (Fitness Online Coaching Academy) certifications of Nutritional Sciences and Training Methodology. A few years later, he became a MNU certified nutritionist and completed the Science of Nutrition certification from Dr. Layne Norton. This is where he found his passion: evidence-based fitness. He submerged himself in the evidence-based community, studying from the greatest minds in this industry, who inspired him not to practice business administration, but to become a coach and help other people achieve their goals.


Bernardo is an evidence-based coach who combines the science of nutrition and exercise science with his experience to support and guide his clients to achieve their objectives on body composition (fat loss and muscle building).


Besides being a fitness enthusiast, he is married and has a little boy, loves spending time with his family, and really enjoys eating out and going to the movies to watch Marvel films.
